Great day at the Limehouse Festival - by Nick Goodheart

A great day was had at the Limehouse Festival last Sunday 7 July where London Petanque Club played their yearly match against Croydon Petanque  Club.

The teams consisted of 8 players from each club and play commenced at 11 am with fantastic music beating from the festival in the background.

 LPC was represented by  Nick, Keith , JC , Christine , Tom . Len , Pedro and Hussain .

 CPC was represented by Adrian , Dave R , Terry , Janet , Mike , Sue ,and Mark B.

 Two rounds were played before lunch with LPC taking a resounding lead of 14 points to 2.

With the Festival there were some amazing food opportunities .

After lunch LPC continued to dominate the match and finished at 6pm with LPC winning the match by 26 to 6 points.

The weather got nice and warm in the afternoon and we were graced with a visit by Sir Ian McKellen who was dressed in white and was clearly the squire of Limehouse.
